All it takes is a shock quotient which is must to inspire people to start sharing it with others without cross checking it with authentic sources.

In a similar false report, WhatsApp groups have been abuzz with a news of derailment of Ahmedabad-bound Navjeevan Express en route from Chennai.

The rumour has been spread with some pictures of a derailed train and some deceased people, with a message to keep forwarding it on other groups so that the family members of the dead could find them.

The rumour is completely false having no factual existence. The report has also been completely rubbished by the railway ministry.

The social media platforms are today majorly being used as the best place to share the most shocking news, be it true or false, and people start believing them to be genuine without cross checking it on television on newspaper.

These messages are often so much provocative that they easily create panic among people.
