Lucknow: The indifferent attitude of Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh towards Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna has disappointed the natives of state who have dreamt of their own houses under the scheme.

Out of the total 22 lakh houses, the first 4 lakh homes are in the doldrums which were to be given to the people of state in first year but UP government’s apparent strategy is to ensure that no resident should get a house under this scheme.

It may be recalled that Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna, previously known as Housing for All Scheme, was launched on June 25, 2015.

Not even acknowledged 15 letters sent by Centre

UP was to get a total of 22 lakh houses under the scheme. Central government sources have confirmed that the Centre had penned as many as 15 letters to the state government.

The Uttar Pradesh Govt has not even acknowledged that the letters were received. Due to this careless attitude the 4 lakh houses to Uttar Pradesh in the first year are just in a fix.

Why this Attitude?

Centre would get the credit of the houses given to the native of the poll-bound state, which may be a dent to the image of the arch rival Samajwadi Party.

Now political pundits find it a sheer carelessness but a well planned move. If it boomrangs blame can be loaded to the bureaucrats, while if it worked, it would be termed as a calculated strategy. After all in politics it is as important to stop rival to get to the finish line as to win the race.
