Udta Punjab flies high on opening day; bags over Rs 10cr
Mumbai: Anurag Kashyap co-produced flick Udta Punjab did a fantastic opening day business at Bollywood Box Office by collecting over Rs 10cr on its release day. Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer film covers a sensitive issue of drug abuse among the youths in Punjab.
Udta Punjab, which entered a long scuffle with the Censor Board, also bags a place in top five grossing films in 2016. The top five films include – Fan (19.20cr), Housefull 3 (15.21cr), Airlift (12.35cr), Baaghi (11.94cr) and Udta Punjab (10.05cr)

Directed by Abhishek Choubey, Udta Punjab also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles. Film got a wide release in around 2,000 screens.
