New Delhi: Bollywood actress Dia Mirza is once again in the headlines. Dia is enjoying her pregnancy period these days. Dia Mirza made her Bollywood debut in the 2001 film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. There were many ups and downs in the career of the actress. During an interview, Dia has spoken about the sexism of the industry.

Dia Mirza speaks about 'Sexism' in Bollywood:

In an interview with Brut India, Dia Mirza has told that people used to write, think and were making sexist cinema and I was a part of them myself. According to the actress, her first film 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein' also had sexism. I was doing with such people.

We live in a patriarchy society:

Dia told that a makeup artist was a man while not a woman, a hairdresser was a woman. That's when I started working in films. At that time, there were only 4 to 5 women in the film's crew of more than 120.

According to the actress, we live in a patriarchal society. The film industry is the scale of a man. According to the actress, there is gender discrimination in the industry. Sometimes I think so. There are many men who are writers, directors, actors who do not even know about their sexist thinking.'

"I am sure things have improved now because there's been just so much advocacy work and an improved understanding of what patriarchy is and what sexism is that people know better now," the actor shared.

A few days ago, Dia Mirza got married to Vaibhav Rekhi. Dia Mirza got married on 15 February and the actress had to face trolls on social media when the news of pregnancy was revealed on 1 April. Dia keeps her opinion on social media. The actress does not hold back from speaking on any issue.
