After Saif, Suniel Shetty supports Akshay Kumar's National Award win

Mumbai: Coming in support of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for getting National Award, actor Suniel Shetty on Tuesday said former has done some remarkable work in the industry and deserved the honour.

“This is completely wrong. Akshay has given so many hits. Why are you looking at just one film? Look at his career. He has been there for more than 100 films. He deserves the honour. Maybe he has been given this honour looking at his graph and growth in films over the years," said Suniel Shetty.

Suniel said Khiladi Kumar has always done justice with the roles of army and used to respect the security forces.

"There are very few actors who give respect to the uniform when they get into it. Akshay is one of them," he said.

After seeing the uproar about his win at the National Awards, disappointed Akshay had even said that if people do not find him worthy of the prestigious honour, then he is ready to return it back.

Advising Akki not to get sad over the same, his 'Hera Pheri' co-star said, "Akshay needs to forget this and doesn’t need to feel bad about it. If not for Rustom, then think that he has got the award for Airlift."

Earlier, Saif Ali Khan had said that few joked about him winning National Award for ‘Hum Tum’ and in that case giving the prestigious honour to Akki is completely justified.

Akshay and Suniel have worked together in several films including Aan: Men At Work, Dhadkan, Hera Pheri, Sapoot etc.
