Mumbai: Amid massive revolt against the Pakistani artists in India, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, on Friday, backed them saying that they are just artists and not terrorists.

Salman’s statement came a day after the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association had passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors from Bollywood following the Uri attack.

Salman said “Pakistani artistes are just artistes and not terrorists. Terrorism and art are two different subjects.”

Sultan actor was speaking during the jewellery range launch for his brand Being Human.

Applauding the action Indian Army’s action against terrorists, Salman said that it was the need of the day but maintaining peace in the wake of humanity is also needed.

He said, “Ideal situation should have been that of peace. But, now a reaction to an action has happened. I think if we lived in peace and harmony it would have been better for everyone and especially for common people.”

Artists from Pakistan including singer Atif Aslam, Rahat fateh Ali Khan, Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan have returned back home after protests against them in India.
