'Dangal' creates history, earns over Rs 1,000 crore in China

Mumbai: Aamir Khan decided not to release 'Dangal' in Pakistan as the censor board of the country demands the scenes involving Indian Flag and National Anthem to be removed.

Refusing to allow its release in Pakistan, Aamir Khan said, "It’s a sports-based biopic with no direct or indirect reference to Pakistan. The film only highlights India’s nationalistic sentiment, so what is the reason to chop off those scenes? The demanded cuts were crucial spirit of the film."

When asked why the scenes are needed to be cut, Pakistan's Central Board of Film Censors Head Mobashir Hasan said, "Yes, the board unanimously decided to skip two scenes. The decision is the collective wisdom of the board."

Aamir Khan starrer Dangal also bagged three Filmfare awards out of four nominations including best film, best actor and best director and also earned the whopping Rs. 385 cr at the box office worldwide.

It could be mentioned here that this is not the first time when Pakistan had refused to release Bollywood films in its nation. Earlier, Pakistan censor board had refused to release Shahrukh Khan and Mahira Khan-starrer ‘Raees’ in their country citing objectionable content and theme, which ‘undermines Islam’.
