Mumbai: Comedy king Kapil Sharma tied the knot with his long time girlfriend Ginni Chatrath on Dec 12, in Jalandhar, Punjab.

Theirs was a big fat Punjabi wedding with two ceremonies from both sides. From groom's side it was done according to Sikh rituals in the wee hours of the day while on bride's side it was according to Hindu rituals, at late night.

Keeping the fame of Kapil in consideration, ample security was there to ensure that the event goes well. Even the invitees were required to produce barcode to get entry in the wedding event. However, all this security couldn't stop the fans of Kapil, gathered outside the wedding venue to wish him on his big day.

The pre-wedding celebrations started 10 days back, where the first functions 'Akhandpath' held at Ginni’s place on December 3, following by a mehendi ceremony on Monday.

On Tuesday, Kapil’s family held a jagran in Amritsar, where Kapil’s friends and colleagues from the industry including Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek, singer Richa Sharma and his 'The Kapil Sharma Show' colleagues Sumona Chakravarti and Chandan Prabhakar were all present. On Wednesday the couple tied the sacred knot at 'The Grand Cabbana' resort in Jalandhar.

The bride-and-groom looked ravishing in their wedding dress. Kapil choose to wear green sherwaani while Ginni wore traditional red lehenga.

The two will host a reception party on December 14, in Jalandhar and another on December 24, in Mumbai.
