OMG! Kaalakaandi sets pre-release record, fetches 73 cuts from CBFC

Mumbai: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made 73 cuts, a record, in the Saif Ali Khan starrer upcoming flick Kaalakaandi.

According to a highly placed source in CBFC, Kaalakaandi has so many abuses that it makes all the previous most explicit bollywood movies look like a disney venture.

The source stated, "Kaalakaandi makes Delhi Belly look like a Disney film. When Delhi Belly was released there were waves of shock and disbelief among the public at the torrent of profanities. But Kaalakaandi sets an all-new benchmark of expletives. We at the CBFC heard abuses that we had never heard of and never imagined existed.The film is a dictionary of dirty abuses."

The movie was produced before CBFC during Pahlaj Nihalani's tenure, but the CBFC sources believes that the entry of Prasoon Joshi would do no benefit to the Saif Ali Khan starrer.

'Kaalakaandi', produced by Cinestaan Film Company and Ashi Dua Sara of Flying Unicorn, also features Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raz, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam in important roles.

Akshat Verma, who shot to fame by writing the script of controversial yet critically acclaimed Bollywood movie 'Delhi Belly', is turning director with Kaalakaandi.

The film which was slated to release on september 8 has been pushed further following the massive number of cuts.
