Mumbai: Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar's Bollywood debut 'Dhadak', which achieved a huge milestone by surpassing the opening day box-office collection record of 'Student Of The Year', has already collected about Rs 20 crore at the box-office in two days.

The film, which released to rave reviews and earned Rs 8.71 crore on its first day, went on to mint Rs 11.04 crore on Saturday taking its total collection to Rs 19.75 crore.

Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh hoped that the film is likely to breach the Rs 30 crore mark by Sunday. "#Dhadak witnesses SIGNIFICANT GROWTH on Day 2... Growth on Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 26.75%... Sun biz expected to be higher than Sat... Eyes ₹ 30 cr+ weekend, which is EXCELLENT for a film starring newcomers... Fri 8.71 cr, Sat 11.04 cr. Total: ₹ 19.75 cr. India biz," he tweeted.

Dhadak, is the Hindi remake of much acclaimed Marathi film 'Sairat'. The movie had a grand opening and out did the first day box-office collection of 'Student of the Year' (8 cr.) setting a new record for being the highest grossing movie with newcomers playing the main-lead.

Karan Johar had tweeted, "Glad to have our own record broken previously held by SOTY!! Thank you to all the beating hearts for giving this beating heart so much love!!! @ShashankKhaitan #Janhvi #ishaan #dhadak."

The movie gives a strong message on a social evil, honour killing. The film shows two young hearts who fell victim of society’s rules and are forced to either end their love or life.

Like all other Karan Johar's films, this movie also starts with a grand and lavish kothies (bungalows). This romantic-tragedy has all the flavours on its plate.

Though the film looked all drenched in young-love and romance in its first half, the second half though was comparatively weak. It seemed a little-bit slow and missing-out on action and drama expected by the audience.

The remakes are always tough to be made as they have very restricted space to develop a story, leaving all creativity to direction.

Actor Ashutosh Rana's character is of someone whom you will take with you once you leave the theatre. He has a habit of enfusing life to the characters he plays. He has essayed the role of Jhanvi's father in 'Dhadak', who is a dabang politician of Jaipur.

Jhanvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar and director Shashank Khaitan are being heavily praised for their work while Karan got best wishes from Bollywood celebs like Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra and Ekta Kapoor for the success of 'Dhadak'.
