New Delhi: After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi with other young delegates of Bollywood on Thursday, producer Mahaveer Jain said that the PM sees extreme potential in the Indian Film Industry and wants it to be a part of the country's growth.

The director who initiated the idea of young actors from tinsel town to meet PM Modi, along with Karan Johar, said that the meeting was a historic one.

The PM cordially invited the delegates and had a brief meeting with them. He said that the PM wants Bollywood industry to take an active part in nation building.

On Thursday, a bunch of actors, directors and producers reached Delhi to meet PM Modi. Actors like Ranveer singh, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkumar Rao, and Sidharth Malhotra; along with directors Rohit Shetty, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and producers Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain and Ekta Kapoor joined the group of delegates.

Mahaveer told media that that the PM was very warm and gave his precious time to the Bollywood lot. He said that the entertainment industry can bring about a great social change in the nation and the industry people should feel themselves as a part of nation's growth and development.

He also told the actors that they are role models for the youth, therefore, they can contribute towards the country's development.

As said by Mahaveer-" The industry has a lot to give to the nation, as the PM said that the stars are role models. I'm surprised why this meeting didn't happen earlier? Now we will try to extensively interact with the government and nothing would be able to stop us."

The actors were on cloud nine after this historical meeting. The brigade was all full of praises for PM Narendra Modi.

Their Twitter handles were flooded with selfies and pictures with the PM.

Ranveer Singh shared a picture where he is seen hugging the PM and captioned it 'jadoo ki jhappi', while Karan Johar expressed his gratitude towards the PM for his warm welcome.

They also thanked him for reducing GST on movie tickets as it has increased the profit margins of the industry.

All in all the meeting turned out to be a fruitful one where Politics and Bollywood came together for a purpose.
