Malini Awasthi shows mirror to bollywood stalwarts, tweets old picture

Lucknow: Scoffing at the critics of Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher, who consider them as 'Bhakts' for praising Indian army and Modi government, the popular folk singer Malini Awasthi took to twitter and posted a picture of some of the veteran actors with Indira Gandhi to show mirror to those who question the both.

The Padma Shri awardee posted the picture of former Prime Minister of India in which many bollywood veteran stars are also seen. The snapshot was captioned as, "अचानक यह तस्वीर कहीं से मिली,देख कर लगा कि अनुपम खेर अक्षयकुमार को सेना/देश का साथ देने पर भक्त कहा जाता है, तो ये चरणों पर बैठे कौन हैं?"which means "I, somehow, today found a picture which I am sharing with you all. If we seek to ridicule Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher for their support to Army and Modi, then what will we refer them who are sitting at the feet of this lady in the picture.?"

In the picture we can see that Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapur, Manoj Kumar, Saira Banu, Dharmendra, Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna and Lata Mangeshkar are seen standing beside Indira Gandhi, while, many other actors are seen sitting on the floor.

Born in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh, Malini Awasthi is an Indian Folk Singer She sings in languages like Hindi, Bhojpuri, Bundelkhandi and Awadhi and also presents Thumri and Kajri.
