Islamabad: Breaking her silence, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who will appear in Shahrukh Khan starrer flick Raees, comes out with a strong message against terrorism on Saturday.

Her statement comes after other stars from Pakistan including Fawad Khan and Shafqat Amanat Ali have condemned the Uri attack, in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred.

Mahira took to the social media giant Facebook to bring her heart out on the issue.

She wrote, "In the 5 years that I have been working as an actor I believe that I have tried my best to keep my countrys respect intact - by being a professional and by representing Pakistan here and elsewhere to the best of my abilities."

She added, "As a Pakistani and citizen of the world, I strongly condemn any act of terror, any loss of human life no matter which soil it is on! I will not rejoice in bloodshed and war. I will always hope for and dream of a world where my child can live without it, and always plead with everyone to imagine a peaceful world."

Political parties and media took a strict stand against the Pakistani artists after the Uri attack. The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) had passed a motion to ban Pakistani artistes from working in the industry.
