Court refuses to dismiss FIR filed against Ekta Kapoor for XXX web series
The Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected Ekta Kapoor's plea to quash the FIR lodged regarding the controversial scenes of the web series aired on the OTT platform Alt Balaji.
Mumbai: Famous producer-director Ekta Kapoor is often in controversy over her films, TV serials and web series. Season 2 of their web series Triple X has been in controversy for a long time.
Madhya Pradesh rejects Ekta's plea:
The Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected Ekta Kapoor's plea to quash the FIR lodged regarding the controversial scenes of the web series aired on the OTT platform Alt Balaji. Ekta Kapoor in trouble for her content:
An FIR was registered against Ekta Kapoor at a police station in Madhya Pradesh five months ago. Justice Shailendra Shukla of the Indore bench of the High Court ruled on Wednesday on behalf of Ekta Kapoor, dismissing the petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC). The single bench gave a 65-page verdict after looking into the pleas of all concerned.
The single bench said in the judgment, "It seems that the facts of the case are not such that the court can exercise its extraordinary powers. Under Section 482 of the CrPC. At least Section 67 and 67-A of the Information Technology and The Indian Penal Code. The FIR lodged under section 294 (obscenity) of the Indian Government can quashed. ' However, the court has given relief to Ekta Kapoor from the allegations made in the FIR for hurting religious sentiments and improper use of national emblems through web series.

This FIR against Ekta Kapoor on the complaint of two local residents - Valmik Sakaragaye and Neeraj Yagnik. Along with Sections 294 (obscenity) and 298 (offending religious sentiments) of the Indian Penal Legislation. The State Emblem of India (improper use of Prohibition) was registered under the relevant provisions of the Act. In his complaint, pornography was spread in the society through season 2 of the web series Triple X aired on Ekta Kapoor's established OTT platform Alt Balaji.
