Mumbai: India's ace playback singer Sonu Nigam is upset with director Karan Johar after watching Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (ADHM). The reason is a dialogue in the film which allegedly insults legendary singer Mohammad Rafi.

Anushka, in a scene, said that “Rafi wahi jo gaate kam the aur rotey zyadaa the”, leaving Nigam, who is a die-hard fan of Rafi, in fury as he went on to say that filmmakers now days are left with no adab (manners).

Sonu said that if filmmakers were willing to use the lines they may have use it like – “Rafi wahi na jinkey gaane rone waale hote the”. He said, “This may not have sounded so weird.”

Sonu added, “Indians were known for something called adab [manners]; that is history now. If one is okay with a similar joke on their father, there is no issue. But, you are aware that a word against one's father's achievements boils their blood. Rafi saab is a musical father to me and many others. How can the sons be okay with this disrespect? He is the king of singers. Using frivolous words for someone of his stature is unacceptable and offensive."
