Kannada star Chiranjeevi passes away at 39: Sandalwood industry mourns

New Delhi: The famous and talented actor of Kannada cinema, Chiranjeevi Sarja, breathed his last today at a hospital in Bangalore. The year 2020, so far, has already been a black one for Indian cinema. With the passing of another famed star, the void has grown bigger.

According to the sources, the actor had some breathing issues, and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Bangalore. However, he succumbed to a cardiac arrest, as reported by the Press Trust of India. (PTI) It was reported that people gathered in huge numbers in front of the hospital where the actor was hospitalized. The celebrities underwent a great shock after receiving the news and took to their social media to offer condolences.

He is nephew of the Tamil star, Arjun Sarja and made his debut in the industry with movie 'Vayuputra' in 2009. He also bagged the Innovative Film Award for Best Debut (Male) for the same movie. His last silver screen appearance was in the movie 'Shivarjuna' which was released just before lock down. However, it was taken off from the theaters to re-release in future. Chiranjeevi acted in over 20 movies. He was known as one of the busiest actors in Kannada cinema.

He is survived by his wife Meghana Raj to whom he got hitched in April 2018.
