Many people who have admiration for the art and craft found Shahid Kapoor's acting skills unmatchable and admired the insanity and intensity of the role, while, other criticized the movie for its misogynistic content and for disrespecting women.

The movie 'Kabir Singh', is a remake of Telugu hit 'Arjun Reddy', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Mr Vanga wanted to make an "unusual love story" where the lead character has a "specific way" of looking at a girl and expressing his emotions. Mr. Vanga in one of his interviews said, "If you make it like girl-meets-boy story, then it becomes usual. It was deliberate to make the story unusual. It is about this character, who has a specific way of looking at a girl, a specific way of expressing his emotions and his love for her."

"It is about how his life changes suddenly due to love. Love does change things. I have tried to make the story, the character as real and simple as possible," Vanga further said.

After the first show fans shared their experience on micro blogging site where some were lauding the direction and performance others became critical of the story, blaming it romanticizing the destructive, obessesive and violent love.

All three versions have drawn criticism for their depiction of toxic masculinity as the central character, a doctor, descends into self-destruction and alcoholism following a heartbreak.

After reading all the tweets, we could say if you really appreciate true art then surely go and watch Kabir Singh as it promises to deliver an excellent acting from one of the finest Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, however, Kiara Advani also got many praise for her acting in the film.
