Mumbai: Touching nearly all the genres, web-series have been a hit among its viewers and big names like Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, experimenting their craft with challenging roles and amazing scripts, have just attributed to its success.

Taking up such a challenging job to walk-down the political lobby and re-create the time when India was under the leadership of its one of the strongest political leaders, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, director Ritesh Batra is all set to revive history.

To match up the aura and persona of Indira, who else can be the directors choice but Vidya Balan? making her debut web-series, Vidya has bought the rights to Sagarika Ghose's book 'Indira: India's Most Powerful Prime Minister' on which the series will be based.

Vidya, who was seen in the recently released film 'Mission Mangal', had earlier told media in an interview, the project has been under development for a while courtesy its subject.

"I am doing a web series and it is my debut, Ronnie Screwvala is producing it. It is taking a long time to put it together as there is so much material.

"The web series requires a lot of work. So it is taking time but let's see. I hope it doesn't take longer," the actor had said.

Ritesh Batra, who has also directed 'The Lunch Box' and 'Photograph', is now all set to serve his audience with a political periodic drama.

"Ritesh is directing the series," a source close to the development said.
