Jagga Jasoos actor commits suicide; Husband arrested

Gurugram: Singer-actor Bidisha Bezbaruah, who was recently seen in Jagga Jasoos, was found dead under mysterious circumstances. It’s been alleged that the 30-year-old has committed suicide as her body was found hanging from the ceiling.

The police has launched a probe and arrested her husband on Wednesday, a day after the lady was found. The detention was made on the basis of the complaint by her father stating that she had a love marriage but would often have quarrels with her husband.

The body was found at her residence in the posh Sushant Lok area of the city, where she recently returned from Mumbai after completing her project.

"Bezbaruah was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her rented accommodation which she had taken recently," Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Saharan said.

A singer by profession Bezbaruah was a native of Assam and a well-known TV personality who had hosted many stage shows as well.

What else the police stated:

• Father of the actress had informed that she was not taking his calls.
• Her father suspected something foul as she was not picking the phone on Monday evening.
• He approached the nearby police station and gave details of her local address.
• When we reached the spot, the main gate and the door were locked from inside.
• The police team broke open the door and found her hanging, he said.
• Her mobile phone, Facebook and social networking site conversations are being examined by investigating teams.
• No suicide note was recovered from her possession.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has talked with his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar seeking proper probe into the death.
