PHOTOS: Journey of Iris Mittenaere from Miss France to Miss Universe 2017

Manila: Miss France Iris Mittenaere was crowned as a Miss Universe 2016 which was held on January 30, 2017. This was the 65th Miss Universe pageant that took place at the Mall of Asia in suburban Pasay city of south of Manila in Philippines.

Before winning the crown Iris said, "I failed several times in my life… When you fail you have to be elevated and you have to keep going. If tonight I will not be the winner I am still honored that I’m still one of the three finalists. For me this is a great opportunity.

• The 23-year-old Mittenaere is a resident of lille city of France.

• She is pursuing her degree in dental surgery.

• She loves travelling and cooking.
• She also shared a message that dental hygiene and oral health is very important.

It may be known that this is the second time that the title of Miss Universe was given to Miss France. Earlier, in 1953 Miss France was crowned by the title.
