To hell with gender bias! SRK proposes Mithali to coach KKR

Lucknow: Can we hope to see Mithali Raj, the celebrated Indian women cricket team captain, as the coach of Virat Kohli's team in the future? Well! Superstar Shahrukh Khan has already initiated to bust the taboo while offering her to coach his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

The most encouraging as well as magnanimous offer was made during a television show TED Talks on Star Plus where SRK was interacting with Mithali Raj as one of many women achievers of the country.

The programme, anchored by Shahrukh Khan, which looks like making an ardent effort to bust the gender bias in the country had Mithali Raj as guest. Mithali, an unassuming and modest cricketer as she is, smiled away the offer as she is already busy with national stint. Nonetheless the query about a woman cricketer coaching the men's cricket team did made a sound to be echoed in the times to come.

If was a straight question by SRK to Mithali Raj ''can we see in the near future, Mithali as the coach of Indian Men's cricket team?" To which. Mithali said it could be done with the help of support staff and other logistics .

''My IPL team is also there and you may coach it anytime" promptly said Shahrukh, the owner of IPL team of KKR, amid loud cheers from the audience.

Shahrukh may have made a pitch of an important issue and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI ) will have to take a call on this. Many convoluted Answer is yes . Why not if BCCI decides to rise above the gender bias which , of course, is no more an issue in view of the sudden spurt in the popularity of women cricket after their spectacular performance in recent times.
