Happy Birthday to Rekha, the dusky beauty turns 62

Mumbai:One of the versatile actors and a dusky beauty of Bollywood has turned 62. The bollywood diva is best known for her reserve and charming personality.

The actress do not believe in celebrating birthdays as everyday is a blessing or a boon for her. "Why just one particular day? I do not believe in celebrating Diwali, Eid or Christmas either. Every day is a blessing for me," said Rekha.

"Every night when we sleep we are dying for the day and next morning we wake up with a new life," said the actor.

She was outspoken, brash and carefree person when she entered Indian Cinema.

• At the age of 19 she was married to Vinod Mehra with whom she shared screen in a movie Ghar. Her mother-in-law was very unkind to her. She refused to accept her as a bride. In 2004, in an interview with Simi Garewal, she denied the existence of her marriage.

• Later, in 1990, she was tattle tattled about her marriage with the industrialist Mukesh Agarwal. Though the marriage had not gone well and after one year they decided to separate. Few days after divorce, Mukesh committed suicide which gave a shock to the entire Bollywood Industry.

• Rekha was also rumoured to be in a relationship with the legendary actor, Amitabh. The affair caused a lot of friction between Amitabh and his wife Jaya Bachchan and also created a cold war between the two actors, forcing Amitabh to make the choice between the two.

• After Amitabh, the actor was in a relationship with Jeetendra, who was a famous actor of that time and also the playboy of the B-Town. They both shared the screen in many films.

This year, on her birthday she wishes to spread smiles as much as she can. “A Successful life is not measured by how much films we did or how much money we accumulated. It can be only measured by the number of smiles we have brought to the faces including our own," said Rekha.
