Mumbai: The row over Bollywood film Udta Punjab ends with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) clearing the movie with an 'A' certificate.

CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani also clarified that reports of Censor Board asking change in the movie title were baseless and no such demands were kept in front of the makers.

He said, "I follow the rule book, films are given certificate based on CBFC guidelines."

Filmmakers and the film fraternity stand together after CBFC suggested over 80 cuts in the film. The co-producer of the film, Anurag Kashyap had moved a plea in the Bombay High Court against the Censor Board.

Court will announce its verdict on Monday but ahead of it CBFC passed the film.

The Abhishek Choubey directed film Udta Punjab stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Dilijit Dosanjh in lead roles. Film is slated for June 17 release.
