Bollywood actor Jagdeep passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai, following age-related health issues. He was 81. Celebrities mourn the demise of Bollywood actor, who was best known for playing Soorma Bhopali in the cult film Sholay.

Jagdeep’s most memorable character is Soorma Bhopali in Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay.

His catchphrase in the film “Mera naam Soorma Bhopali aise hi nahin hai” is still remembered by fans.

In addition, Jagdeep is also remembered for his performance in the comedy film. Like, Andaz Apna Apna, where he played Salman Khan’s father Bankelal.

Furthermore, Jagdeep was mostly seen in comic roles. He also featured in a few Ramsay Brothers horror films including Purana Mandir.

In addition, his work in films like Qurbani and Shehenshah is also noteworthy.

Director's Chair:

Jagdeep also took the director’s chair when he made the film Soorma Bhopali in 1988. Iin addition, which was a spin on his own character from Sholay. However, he played the central character here. Furthermore, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Rekha made cameo appearances in Soorma Bhopali.

However, Jagdeep’s last rites will be performed on Thursday at Shia Kabrastan in Mumbai.
