Anurag Basu is to blame for Jagga Jasoos debacle, Rishi Kapoor
Mumbai: In a direct attack on the renowned Bollywood director Anurag Basu, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor held him responsible for the poor performance of his son Ranbir Kapoor's recent release 'Jagga Jasoos'.
In a recent interview, the outspoken Bollywood actor claimed that Basu was so irresponsible that the film (Jagga Jasoos) took years to complete and was endlessly delayed and repeatedly shelved, which was the main reason behind its bombing at the box-office.
After all the delays, the film finally arrived in the theatres and also received good reviews from the critics, but could not inspire people to spend their money on its tickets.

While Ranbir Kapoor, who also produced the movie, has diplomatically refrained from openly criticising his director, apparently because of the good relations established during the earlier blockbuster 'Barfi!' also directed by Anurag Basu, his father Rishi has done the same in his very infamous style.
"He (Anurag) is such an irresponsible director that he doesn't complete the film. It was supposed to release three times in the past two years, but it kept getting delayed," said Rishi Kapoor.
Jagga Jasoos, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, has so far collected Rs. 46 crores.
