Anupam Kher replaces Gajendra Chauhan as new FTII chief

Pune: Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher, on Wednesday, appointed as the new chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune.

He succeeds former television actor Gajendra Chauhan, whose two-year stint ended in March 2017.

Kher is a recipient of the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016.

FTII has given Bollywood great actors including Naseeruddin Shah, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Shatrughan Sinha, Raza Murad, Resul Pookutty and the late Smita Patil and Om Puri.
