Tom Alter resigns from his post as head of acting dept in FTII

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Tom Alter on Thursday resigned from his post as head of the acting department in Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

“Alter e-mailed his resignation, where he mentioned the step was taken owing to preoccupation with other commitments that prevented him from devoting time to the institute,” director of FTII Bhupendra Kainthola said and added, “we, however, do not want to lose such an expert and will request him to withdraw his resignation.”

  •  The resignation of the prominent actor has not been accepted by the FTII so far.
  • According to sources, Alter’s strained relationship with students could be one of the reasons behind his resignation.
