Mumbai: This lovable couple of B'town is all set to sizzle the screens with it's amazing chemistry in Anurag Kashyap's ‘Gulab Jamun’.

According to sources, in order to grab this opportunity of sharing screen with hubby Abhishek, Aishwarya had to turn down Sanjay Leela Bhansali's project.

Aish has worked with Bhansali in many movies like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Devdas' and 'Guzaarish'. In the past, it was highly reported that Bhansali wanted to make 'Bajirao Mastani' with Salman Khan and Aishwarya for a long time. However, the project happened with Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

In a recent interview, Aishwarya also hinted that Bhansali wanted to cast her in 'Padmaavat' as well but he couldn't find a right 'khilji' for her.

It seems like Aish and Bhansali are not happening any time soon as Aish once again lost her chance of working with Sanjay leela Bhansali.

If rumours are to believed, Aish was in “developed stages of discussion” with Bhansali regarding his next project when the duo was offered ‘Gulab Jamun’ by Kashyap.

“Aishwarya had to choose between working with Bhansali and sharing screen space with her husband, as the dates for both films were clashing. And she chose the film with her husband. They haven’t worked together in eight years. And more importantly, both of them have fabulous roles in Gulab Jamun. They’re going to be playing characters they’ve never played before,” a source revealed.
