Amidst the news of closure of Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools in Rajasthan, the slow admission process has now triggered panic among the parents. The education department completed the application process by June 6. But it remained silent in drawing the lottery. In such a situation, 3,737 schools along with thousands of parents of the state are waiting for the lottery process to start. The confusion is whether the government will be able to complete the admission process in English medium schools this session or not.

In fact, applications were taken for about six lakh seats in 3,737 schools. But this time the interest of parents in English medium schools was less. Only 1.20 lakh applications came in Rajasthan. That means this time 85 percent seats will go vacant. The craze of application was seen only in the schools operating at the district headquarters of the state. Education Minister Madan Dilawar says that we have given instructions to review the schools. We are not closing them. The lottery process will be started soon. Will talk to the officials. Government is reviewing schools.

English medium schools were opened in the previous government. But after the BJP government came to power, the education minister gave instructions to review them. Meanwhile, a circular was also issued by the department to the district education officers. It said that where there is a demand to convert English medium schools into Hindi, information will have to be sent in writing in the format.

Parents of every class are getting their children admitted in Mahatma Gandhi English medium schools spread across the state. Last session, children of government officials and employees took admission in schools of Vidyadhar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Mansarovar in Jaipur. In such a situation, if these children are not admitted, they will have to take admission in Hindi medium schools. The dream of studying in English medium will remain unfulfilled or they will have to pay expensive fees in private schools.a
