"When will school reopen in India 2021," is the most common question asked by students across the nation these days. Students from Karnataka, Punjab, Bangalore, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have flooded Twitter with a question like 'When will schools reopen in our state'. As the Covid graph in the country is on the decline these days, states are expected to resume physical classes for the students of schools and higher educational institutions soon. Schools and colleges across the nation had been closed from March 2020 following the nationwide lockdown imposed in order to curb the spread of Coronavirus. While a few schools, colleges reopened in November 2020, several others resumed offline classes from February 2021.

When will school reopen in India 2021

On June 11, in a first, Himachal Pradesh announced the reopening of medical, ayurvedic, dental, nursing and pharmacy colleges.

Schools will reopen in a phased manner and students will be asked to attend on a voluntary basis. A written consent allowing the children to visit the schools and colleges is expected to be made necessary in almost all the states. Maintaining physical distance between students in classrooms and use of face masks, sanitisers, frequent handwashing and respiratory etiquette will be made compulsory.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu will consider reopening schools for offline classes after taking into account the prevailing Covid situation in the state. As of now, no announcement has been made.

Haryana

The Haryana Government has extended the summer vacation for school students till June 30.

Assam

The Assam government has said all schools will remain closed for offline classes even after the summer vacation which ended on Monday, June 14, due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state and asked authorities to take steps to conduct online classes.

Karnataka

As per reports, Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has directed all Government school teachers to attend schools immediately after the lockdown ends in the state. However, no announcement on reopening of schools for students has been made so far.

Punjab

Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on May 22 announced that all schools in the state – government, semi-government, and private – will remain closed from May 24 to June 23, for students, teachers and staff members.

Bihar

As per reports, Bihar might open schools for offline classes from next month. Bihar board has already conducted Class 10, 12 exams and has declared the results as well.

Uttar Pradesh

Government gave permission to open class 1 to 8 schools from 1st July in Uttar Pradesh

Attendance of teachers/staff will be allowed as per requirement

The ban on the attendance of students will continue till further orders. The Uttar Pradesh government had issued an order earlier that states that all schools and colleges in the state will continue online classes for students from May 20 onwards.

Delhi

Schools in Delhi will continue to function in online mode amid the ongoing Covid crisis.
