UPSC invites applications for lateral entries, for Joint Secretary and Director level

UPSC has invited applications for lateral entries at the Joint Secretary and Director level. The last date for sending the application is 17 September. In the year 2017, the Modi government had said that apart from appointment through examination in civil services, it would consider lateral entry i.e. direct appointment in other areas. In the year 2018, the central government issued a notification for lateral entry and invited applications for the posts of Joint Secretary in 10 departments.
NITI Aayog had also said in a report that it is necessary to include experts in the system under lateral entry. Its purpose is to find experts from the private sector to give impetus to bureaucracy. Keeping this in mind, the central government started lateral entry for bureaucracy. Under which, first of all, applicants from the private sector were selected for 9 posts of Joint Secretary in different departments.
