Schools to Reopen for Classes 9 To 12 from October 19 in UP

The central government has issued guidelines for Unlock5. The Ministry of Home Affairs has given permission to open cinema halls, theaters, multiplexes in the country with 50 percent capacity from October 15. But the decision regarding reopening of schools remain same. As now, States and Union Territories will decide on reopening schools and educational institutions after October 15, according to the new guidelines issued by the MHA.

Unlock 5.0:

The guidelines will come into effect from today. The new guidelines are based on feedback received from states and union territories and extensive consultations held with related central ministries and departments.

Earlier, the Centre had allowed the partial reopening of schools for senior classes from September 21. And several states did reopen for Classes 9 to 12.

The MHA Guidelines has left the state and Union Territories to decide when to reopen schools and coaching centres. Also, when the can start face-to-face classes.

However, the guidelines also adds that "online or distance learning shall continue to be the preferred mode of teaching and shall be encouraged".

MHA Guidelines:

As per the MHA Guidelines, students will be permitted to attend schools or institutions with the written consent of their parents and attendance must not be enforced. The states and the union territories will prepare their own SOPs. In addition, regarding the health and safety of all the students and teachers.

Schools which are allowed to open shall have to mandatorily follow the SOP to be issued by Education Departments of States/ UTs.

The government is now slowly opening the lockdown. Guidelines have been released today by the government. There has not been much decrease in the case of corona virus in the country. But now the recovery rate is increasing. Maharashtra is the most affected by the corona in the country. Now in Mumbai, the state government has given permission to open a restaurant.
