NTA can release NEET UG results in two days: Sources
A meeting of the technical committee of NTA has also been held. Apart from NEET UG, the results of CUET can also be declared in the next two days.
The country's famous medical entrance exam NEET is making a lot of headlines these days due to the paper leak controversy. Now in this case, the exam results can be released by NTA within two days. According to information received from sources, the results can come by Thursday evening or Friday. A meeting of the technical committee of NTA has also been held. Apart from NEET UG, the results of CUET can also be declared in the next two days.
Around 24 lakh students had appeared in the NEET UG exam and around 16 lakh students in the CUET exam. The Supreme Court had declared one option of Physics as correct and on that basis a meeting has been held on how to declare the results afresh. About 1000 students had objected to the answer of the CUET exam. Their exam was held on July 19 and the answer sheet was also released on July 23.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the National Examination Agency (NTA) to amend the NEET UG 2024 merit list by accepting the answer suggested by a committee of three experts of IIT Delhi for a controversial question in Physics. The NTA had considered both the options as the correct answer to the Physics question and gave four marks to all the candidates who marked these options.
But now only those students will get four marks for the question, whose answers match the answer given by IIT Delhi. Let us tell you that more than four lakh candidates had answered the other option as per the old textbook of NCERT. In such a situation, those candidates will lose five marks, which will affect their rank.
Politics across the country has also heated up on the NEET issue. There has been an uproar in Parliament on this issue as well. While Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan answered the opposition's questions on this issue, Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi have cornered the government on the NEET issue. Apart from this, other opposition leaders also cornered the government on the NEET paper leak case. Rahul Gandhi was accused of fuelling a lack of confidence in India's examination system after the NEET-UG paper was leaked at some places and asked whether he would apologize after the Supreme Court's decision on this issue.
