New Delhi: The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced that the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG), 2017 (NEET 2017) will be conducted on May 7.

The CBSE board, in its official notification, invited online application from medical students for getting admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Indian in medical and dental colleges.

The candidates have been asked to submit online application on the board's official website cbseneet.nic.in from January 31 to March 1, 2017. The site had been under construction for a while but has now been activated.

The admissions to all seats of MBBS/BDS courses will be made through NEET (UG) 2017 this year.

The admissions will be made in All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Seats, State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private/ Deemed University and Central Pool Quota Seats.

The NEET 2017 examination will be organised in 80 cities across the country. The applications can be made by Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians, Overseas Citizens of India, Person of Indian Origin and Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET (UG) 2017.

The board is expecting around 10 lakh applications for the examination which will be conducted at 1,500 examinations centers across the county. In 2016, in both NEET-I & NEET-II, around 8,02,594 candidates registered for the examination.

Age: The aspirant should not be below the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will have to complete the age on or before December 31, 2017.

The candidate must not be above the age of 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST category.

A candidate can apply for NEET-UG only three times. The candidates who have already appeared in AIPMT/ NEET thrice will not be eligible to take this examination.
