JEE Advanced Exam to be held on 3 July, no 75% eligibility criteria, says Pokhriyal

Students who missed the JEE Advanced 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be allowed to reappear for the Advanced exam directly, without writing the JEE Main 2021 exam, reports said.

Education Minister recommends setting up task force for NEP implementation

Exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for academic session 2021 will take place on July 3, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced. It will be conducted by the IIT Kharagpur. "I wish all the students the very best, all candidates have enough time to prepare for the exam," he added. In addition to this, 75 per cent eligibility criteria have also been scrapped.

JEE Advanced

JEE Main is the entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered in the country. While JEE Advanced is held for admission to IITs. To appear for JEE Advanced, candidates should have qualified JEE Main.

Earlier, the education minister had announced that JEE-Mains exam for admission to engineering colleges will be held four times a year starting 2021 to offer flexibility to students and a chance to improve their scores. The first edition of the exam will be held from February 23 to 26, followed by rounds in March, April and May. The minister added that the exams are being conducted in 13 languages for the first time.

Last week, the Union Education Minister announced the dates for CBSE class 10 and 12board examination 2021. The exams will commence from 4 May and the results will be declared on 15 July.
