With Class 12 boards deferred, students worried about college admissions

It is for the second consecutive year that the board exams of students are in a limbo due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

CBSE board have rescheduled the class 12 board exams. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has postponed the ICSE (Class 10th) and ISC (Class 12th) exams 2021 in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. Uttar Pradesh Board has also decided to postpone the board examinations till May 20.

Students are also concerned:

Board aspirants are now worried about undergraduate (UG) admissions. Students are most concerned about those universities that follow a cut-off-based admission process on class 12 boards marks such as the University of Delhi (DU) and Mumbai University (MU).

Students are also concerned about various competitive exams as most of them will also get rescheduled and aspirants may get lesser time to prepare.

There are students who are worried that some universities may switch to entrance exams instead of merit-based admissions.

Students push for postponement of JEE Main 2021

After the CBSE Board exams for Class 12 were postponed, various candidates appearing for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main April and May sessions are now requesting to postpone the third session of BTech and BE entrance exam.

The JEE Main session is to be held between April 27 and April 30. So far, the National Testing Agency has not made any announcement regarding postponement of JEE Main (April) session. The admit cards for the third session have not been issued yet. However, the hall tickets are likely to be released soon by NTA as the registration for the JEE Main April session concluded on april 4 and the exams are slated to commence in 10 days.
