Know about 'Shwet Patr', Why Modi government is presenting it

As the Loksabha elections are near, the BJP and Congress are trying to outdo each other. Shwet Patr can be called a weapon of BJP this time, which was presented in the Budget session 2024.

Congress has opposed it. In response to the Shwet Patr of the Modi government, Congress has brought black paper. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge along with party leaders released a black paper poster detailing 10 years of injustice period.

Kharge said "when PM Modi speaks in Parliament, he points out his successes and hides his failures. We will bring out a black paper against the Modi government and give information to the people."

PM Modi sarcastically said "I welcome the black paper because whenever something good happens, a black mark is given. This is necessary so that it is not visible."

What is Shwet Patr?

Shwet Patr is a document that is issued by the government, a company, or a non-profit organization. In this, any solution, conclusion, or service of any product is issued to promote or highlight it. It is generally used as a process to issue government policies, introduce laws and gather public opinion. It was started in Britain in 1992. Through this, a survey or study is released, the purpose of which is to make things better.

Not only the government but it can also be issued by institutions, companies, and organizations. The white paper of a company or institution contains many information including the products manufactured by it and the methods developed by it for promotion. The aim is to make it reach the common people.

Why choose this time for the Shwet Patr?

Recently, while presenting the Union Budget 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced to bringing the Shwet Patr to explain the success of the Modi government and economic decisions taken during the UPA government and their adverse effects on the country.

In the budget speech, she said "in the year 2014, when the Modi government took over the reins, we had taken the responsibility of improving the country's economy step-by-step and bringing the governance system on the right path. The need of the hour then was to attract investment and garner support for reforms. The government was successful in achieving this target with the confidence of the nation first."

Through this, it will be made clear how much change the Modi government has brought to the country. What it has done for the country in the last two terms. What was the condition of the UPA government? Through this, the NDA government will try to expose the mismanagement of the Congress. It can be said a weapon for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
