Is AKTU VC's BJP connection reason behind inaction in fake certificate case?
Lucknow: Highly connected vice chancellor of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Vinay Pathak, does not hesitate to flaunt his BJP connections. Probably this is the reason why the probe against him is not reaching to a logical conclusion.
Professor Vinay Pathak, always a person of questionable credentials, is facing a probe for issuing a fake experience certificate to a person close to him and later giving him a job on the basis of that certificate.
The matter is of the year 2008, when Pathak was the HoD of the Computer Science department at HBTI (now HBTU). It has been alleged that during his tenure, he issued an experience certificate, dated June 25, 2008, for a person named Saurabh Pandey.
On May 5, 2017, HBTU brought out an advertisement holding the certificate, having signature of Vinay Pathak, suspicious. A committee was formed which launched a probe into the matter, but the investigation has reached nowhere till now due to certain reasons.
Here is the gazette:
Interestingly, according to HBTU's official website, at the time when the certificate having Pathak's signature, was issued, the Computer Science department was being headed by Raghuraj Singh.
When Pathak took charge as the Vice Chancellor of Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University in Rajasthan, Saurabh Pandey, on the basis of the same suspicious experience certificate, was appointed as Studio Producer there.
The entire episode raises a question that under which circumstances this certificate was issued and why at the time of appointment to a government post, it was not verified with HBTU.
A probe committee, comprising BHU IT Professor Anand Mohan, HBTU Professor Yaduveer Singh and a few secretary level officials designated by the government, has been formed into the matter.
Before being appointed in Kota, Saurabh Pandey was working for the same university in Uttarakhand where Pathak was the vice chancellor.
