The irregularity was traced after manually checking and finding the online database prepared before the entrance examination different from the hard copies of the documents submitted by the students in the colleges, said AKTU Registrar Pawan Gangwar.
The AKTU officials have claimed that the misdeed happened because the colleges wanted to fill the vacant seats in a hurry.
The colleges have been ordered to get the documents of the suspended students verified by the deadline, March 8, to continue their education in the institution. Those who fail to get their documents verified, their enrolment will be cancelled.
AKTU has assured to take appropriate action against the colleges which will be found guilty of practising forgery. The affiliated colleges may suffer deduction of seats or cancellation of affiliation if found guilty.
