Ranjitsinh Disale

Ranjitsinh Disale is an Indian teacher from Maharashtra. He is the winner of $1 million annual Global Teacher Prize 2020 which was announced on 3 December 2020. Disale said in his winning speech that he would share with his nine fellow finalists half of the prize money, meaning they would receive $55,000 each. He also works with the World Bank as Advisor for their educational programs.

Ranjit Singh, 32, from Paritewadi village in Solapur district of Maharashtra, is an inspiration to everyone on the international stage. Ranjit Singh wanted to become a IT engineer but after reaching engineering college he realised that he might be on the wrong path. His father suggested him to do teaching training.
