32000 posts will be filled in RPF, Railway Ministry claims - more than 5 lakh jobs given between 2014 to 24
It has been said that 1,30,581 candidates have been recruited through Computer Based Test (CBT) after the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions.
32000 posts will be filled in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Railway Ministry claims that 5.02 lakh jobs have been given in the railways between 2014 and 2024. This figure is 25 percent more than the 4.11 lakh jobs given during the tenure of the UPA government from 2004 to 2014. This was said by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in response to a question asked in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

CBT exam conducted after Corona
The Railway Minister said that the Computer Based Test (CBT) examination for more than 1.26 crore candidates was conducted from 28.12.2020 to 31.07.2021 in 7 phases in 68 days in 133 shifts at 211 cities and 726 centers. Similarly, CBT for more than 1.1 crore candidates was conducted from 17.08.2022 to 11.10.2022 in 5 phases in 33 days in 99 shifts at 191 cities and 551 centers.
Notification issued for 32,603 recruitments in RPF
Apart from this, as an improvement in the system, the Ministry of Railways has started the system of publishing an annual calendar for recruitment to various categories of Group 'C' posts this year. A notification has been issued for 32,603 vacancies to fill the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Sub-Inspector and Constable in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) during January to March 2024. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also said that several steps have been taken to improve the working conditions of the loco running crew and initiatives have been taken to improve the safety of train operations.
