Raipur: In yet another attack, naxals opened heavy gunfire and fired a rocket at the camp of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh in small hours on Thursday morning.

“The attack was launched at the company base of the 41st battalion of ITBP in Ranapal area after a large number of Maoists surrounded it from three sides,” said officials. The attack was launched at 0040 hours and continued till 0300 hours.

  • Four rockets were fired inside the camp.
  • About 600 rounds of bullets were exchanged from three sides.
  • No casualties were reported on the ITBP forces' side.
  • There were around 100 naxals who attacked the paramilitary camp.
  • A search operation is currently under way.
