Lucknow: In a major breakthrough, the Lucknow police on Thursday arrested three bookies while betting on the matches of Indian Premiere League (IPL).

Those arrested have been identified as Amit Trivedi, Deepu Soni and Sikhar Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Kumar said, adding, cash worth Rs 1.23 lakhs and electronic gadgets were also recovered from their possessions.

Acted on the complaint of parents:

Pandey said that raids were conducted on the complaints of a few parents who apprised of him about their wards spending their hard earned money on betting.

Were using ‘I-BET’ software:

The bookies were also using software named ‘I-BET’ through which they kept the record of every transaction.

The police also claimed to have gathered the information of all the children who were involved in betting.
