Election enmity claims life of a Gram Pradhan in Kanpur

Kanpur: Anoop Berea, the gram pradhan of Syohra village was shot dead in by armed criminals on Saturday night, police said.

Anoop was sprayed with bullets while he was returning to his village at around 2100 hours. Election animosity could be the reason behind this, police added.

• The assailants had come in car and sprayed bullets on him.
• Anoop died on the spot.
• Villager, on hearing gun shots tried to nab the assailants but their efforts went in vain.
• Police has sent the body for post-mortem and investigation was underway.
