Cloud burst at two places in Uttarakhand, two people die in Tehri, 50 to 200 pilgrims stranded in Kedarnath

Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand since Wednesday morning, cloud burst incidents have occurred at two different places. Two people died and one person was injured in the cloud burst incident in Ghansali of Tehri. Apart from this, about 150 to 200 people are stranded after the cloudburst incident in the Bhim Bali area on the Kedarnath footpath.

Heavy rains have been going on continuously in Uttarakhand for the last 24 hours. Two people have died and another got injured due to cloud burst in Ghansali of Tehri district. According to the information, a hotel was washed away due to cloudburst in Nautar in Jakhaniyali of Ghansali assembly constituency and the culvert connecting Ghansali-Chirbitiya road in Muyalgaon was washed away. There was news of three people of the same family missing out of which bodies of two people have been recovered. One person is injured. The deceased are husband and wife while the injured is said to be their son. Bhanu Prasad (50) and Neelam Devi (45) have died while their 28-year-old son Vipin is injured.

On the other hand, there has been an incident of cloudburst in Bhim Bali Gadera on the Kedarnath footpath. Heavy debris and boulders have fallen on the way. About 30 meters of the footpath has been badly damaged. About 150-200 pilgrims are said to be stranded there. After the accident, movement on the footpath has been stopped. There is a possibility of 150 to 200 pilgrims being stranded in Bhim Bali. There is no news of any loss of life so far. Due to continuous rain, the water level of the Mandakini river is increasing rapidly in Kedarnath Dham. Temple evacuated after river water level rises

Rescue teams are deployed on the spot after a cloudburst in Bhim Bali. At the same time, information has been received from Sector Gaurikund that Gauri Mai temple has been evacuated due to rising water level of the river. Everyone has been taken to a safe place. Also, the parking has been vacated due to rising water level of the river.

After the incident, SDRF, NDRF and police have been deployed on the spot. The disaster management department is completely on alert mode. In view of heavy rains, hospitals have also been instructed to remain on alert mode.
