Maoists kill two jawans in Jharkhand

Two jawans of the Jharkhand Jaguar Force were killed in an encounter with the Maoists in West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand.

According to the police sources, the encounter took place late on Monday night in the naxalite infested Kolhan Reserve Forests in Tonto area in the district.

The jawans, identified as Amit Tiwari and Gautam Kumar, were ambushed by the Maoists while they were preparing dinner.

The Maoists ambushed the Jawans while they were carrying food from their camp to another camp of the CRPF jawans at Tumbahaka.

Sources said that barely two days the security personnel and the Maoists had a gunfight in which the latter had suffered huge losses. A huge quantity of explosives and weapons had been recovered from the Maoists.

Police officials said that a combing operation had been launched in the area and efforts were on to trace the Maoists.
