Mumbai: The T20 World Cup will be held in the UAE. Today it was officially announced. Due to Corona, there was already doubt about its organization in the country. Meanwhile, the BCCI has officially informed the ICC about this.

The tournament can be organized in October-November. Before the T20 World Cup, the remaining 31 matches of IPL are also to be held in UAE. Board Secretary Jay Shah informed about the shift of the tournament.

T20 World Cup in UAE:

According to news agency, Jay Shah said that we have officially informed the ICC today about the shifting of the T20 World Cup to the UAE. The ICC will decide on the date of the tournament. According to the information, it was difficult to organize the tournament in India amid the fear of third wave of Corona.

The World Cup matches can start from October 17. The title match of this 16-team tournament will be played on November 14. Apart from the UAE, tournament matches can also be held in Oman.

Due to being a match of IPL, there should not be much pressure regarding the event in UAE. For this reason, the initial rounds can be held in Oman. Talking about UAE, there are matches to be held in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Earlier, the 2016 T20 World was organized in India itself. Then the team of Windies became the champion.

16 teams have been given a chance in the T20 World Cup. There will be 45 matches in total. The first round will be between 8 teams. There will be 4-4 teams in two groups. There will be a total of 12 matches. The top team of both the groups will qualify for Super-12. Here 12 teams will be divided into two groups. There will be a total of 30 matches. This will be followed by two semi-finals and a final.
