Mumbai: Indian Premier League (IPL) is widely regarded as the 'cash rich' league and if we go through the numbers, the tournament has rightly justified the tag.

The league and the franchises have not only spent millions in commercial deals for sponsorships and media rights, but has spent a whopping sum of Rs 4,284 crores in distributing the salaries of the players.

Out of a total of 694 cricketers who have played in IPL in 11 seasons so far, the league has made 316 crorepatis. The list of these 316 players, however, has only two names who have accumulated over Rs 100 crore in the 11 seasons.

As per a copy published on insidesport.co, only MS Dhoni (Rs 107.8 crore) and Rohit Sharma (Rs 101.6 crore) have earned above Rs 100 crore in IPL history while today's biggest brand in the cricketing world Virat Kohli stands at the fourth position with Rs 92.2 crores right behind Gautam Gambhir (Rs 94.6 crore).

A total of 17 cricketers have earned over Rs 50 crore through IPL salary which includes six foreigners.
