IPL 2018 KXIP vs MI: Punjab posts 174/6 on a good batting wicket

Indore: A gritty half-century by Chris Gayle, a decent start by Lokesh Rahul and last-over blitz by Marcus Stoinis helped Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) get to a healthy total of 174/6 against a thoughtful Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) at Holkar Cricket Stadium here on Friday.

Rahul was the first to depart after adding 24 runs off 20 balls with one four and two marvelous sixes. Gayle went back after played a 50-run knock off 40 deliveries with 6 fours and 2 monstrous sixes.

Yuvraj Singh failed once again as he got out at 14 runs off 14 balls with 1 six. Karun Nair played an aggressive cameo of 23 runs off 12 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes.

Axar Patel, who was promoted up in the order, scored 13 runs off 12 balls with one six. Mayank Agarwal also went back at the individual score of 11 runs off 7 balls with one six. Marcus Stoinis played the knock with created the difference in the last over by hitting Hardik Pandya for 22 runs.

He remained unbeaten at 29 runs off 15 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a magnificent spell of four overs by conceding only 19 runs for 1 wicket. Mitchell McClenaghan, Hardik Pandya, Mayank Markande and Ben Cutting also picked up one wicket each.
