Panchayat elections a crime against humanity, says Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the UP government and UP State Election Commission (SEC) over the alleged death of 700 teachers on panchayat poll duty. She stated that conducting panchayat elections during the onslaught of the second wave was a crime against humanity in which the UP SEC was a party. “Over 700 teachers have died in Uttar Pradesh, including a pregnant lady, who was forced to attend polling duty for the panchayat elections. These elections have been conducted at about 60,000 gram sabhas of UP without any thought of the catastrophic onslaught of the second wave,” said Priyanka on her Twitter handle.
